On his second day on the campaign trail, Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford is in London Thursday morning and said he has a plan to protect Ontario autoworkers.
Speaking at Starlim North America Corporation on Tartan Drive, Ford said “After years of economic decline under the Liberals, our PC team has fought hard to rebuild Ontario’s manufacturing sector and bring back good jobs with $45 billion in new investments in the first electric vehicle and battery plants in the country.”
Ford and other party leaders are trying to gain voter support for a rare winter election set for the end of February. He launched his campaign in Windsor, Ont. on Wednesday.
Ford called the snap election this week, saying he needs a new mandate to deal with U.S. President Donald Trump’s new administration and to spend billions of dollars in response to threatened tariffs.
Green party Leader Mike Schreiner will campaign north of the Greater Toronto Area today.
NDP leader Marit Stiles starts her campaign bus tour in Toronto before heading to Kitchener.
