A Toronto police officer is expected to make a full recovery after being shot in the abdomen late Wednesday afternoon in Midtown Toronto. The officer, who is 29-year-old and has five years of service with Toronto Police Service, has non-life-threatening injuries, Toronto police Myron Demkiw said on Thursday. Police say the incident occurred when officers pulled over a driver during a robbery investigation. Three suspects are in now police custody. Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating as another officer discharged their firearm, but no one was struck.
