Two Toronto Police officers are shaken up after a crash at Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue in North York.

The partners were responding to a call without lights and sirens when they were hit by a vehicle turning left.

The driver of that vehicle has been charged with conducting an unsafe turn. There were no serious injuries as a result of the collision.

In Markham overnight, a young driver lost control of his SUV slamming into a tree.

Police say speed may have played a role in the crash at Baycliffe Road and Holligham Road, north of the city and are looking into whether the 19-year-old will be charged.

Alcohol was not a factor, police say. The teen was not hurt, but the new vehicle has become a write off.

In the city, dozens of onlookers gathered at the scene of a three-vehicle accident on Yonge and Wellesley Streets last night.

One person was trapped and three people were taken to hospital -- all complaining of back pain.

Police are still determining the cause of the crash and if charges will be laid.

Meanwhile, the OPP is back out on the roads today looking for drivers breaking the rules.

Commissioner Julian Fantino says the Labour Day weekend is historically one of most dangerous long weekends on Ontario roads.

Two people from Hamilton died on Friday afternoon in a serious crash. Last year, 11 people died on this long weekend on the roads. Officers say people are simply not slowing down.

The OPP is looking for speeders as one aircraft patrols eastern Ontario while the other is focusing on highways south of the province.
