Police cameras will be coming back to at-risk parts of the city more than a year after they were removed after the Police Services Board approved a plan to install 11 new closed circuit television cameras.

There were several six-month pilot projects that began in 2007 across the city and wrapped up at the end of 2008 when all of the cameras were taken down.

The latest decision has no effect on the 15 cameras that are permanently stationed on Yonge Street and throughout the Entertainment District.
