KINGSTON, Ontario - Six weeks after four Montreal women were found dead in a submerged car in the Rideau Canal near Kingston, Ontario, police have turned over evidence from their investigation to Crown attorneys.

Police say the evidence makes the case for mass murder.

Kingston police Staff Sergeant Chris Scott says the evidence was loaded onto a hard drive.

Scott says if it were in paper form, it would have filled several banker's boxes.

The victims were three teenage sisters and a 50-year-old woman.

Charged with four counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder are the girls' parents Mohammed Shafia and Tooba Mohammed Yahya, and Hamed Shafia -- the girls' brother.

It was later learned the 50-year-old woman was Mohammed Shafia's first wife.

The three accused are in custody, and are due to make a second court appearance tomorrow.
