MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Chalk up another victory for rising Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic.

He advanced to the quarter-finals of the Memphis ATP Tour event on Thursday with a 6-4, 6-7 (10), 7-6 (1) win over Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic.

In women's quarter-final play, No. 6 seed Rebecca Marino of Vancouver defeated American Coco Vandeweghe 6-1, 7-6 (6).

Stepanek, a former world No. 8, holds the No. 65 position in the current rankings. Raonic, the world No. 59, will play American qualifier Robert Hendrick in the next round.

Raonic, of Thornhill, Ont., opened the tournament with a three-set victory over world No. 9 Fernando Verdasco. He also beat the Spaniard last Sunday in the final of the SAP Open for his first tournament victory on the ATP Tour.
