TORONTO - Sarah Thomson has become the first woman to enter the Toronto mayoralty race to replace outgoing two-term Mayor David Miller.

The CEO and founder of Women's Post media launched her campaign around the noon hour today.

Thomson says she can lead Toronto to success but it will take more than just her, adding "it will take all of us to work together to fix this city."

She says a city can be built that is vibrant, strong, free from debt and open to new ideas.

Former deputy premier George Smitherman, deputy mayor Joe Pantalone, former Liberal party director Rocco Rossi and Toronto city councillor Giorgio Mammoliti are among those who have also entered the mayor's race.

Toronto Transit Commission chairman Adam Giambrone is expected to announce his candidacy on Feb. 1.
