The highs and lows of riding the rocket have been turned into rap song that is quickly gaining notoriety among Toronto transit riders.

Syrus Watson and Randal Medford's "I Get On (The TTC)," is a parody of "I Put On (for my city)" by hip hop artists Young Jeezy and Kanye West.

The Toronto pair's song pokes fun at several day-to-day occurrences for people who take public transit in the city, covering everything from running after the bus to flatulent strangers.

"I need some assurity, I hold on for security," rhymes Watson, while Medford croons in the background.

After being posted earlier this week, the video reached about 30,000 views before being yanked from YouTube by its 21-year-old creators, who had received complaints about their use of the word "fag."

The new version, which uses "boy" instead, has already had more than 11,000 views.

TTC chair Adam Giambrone has reportedly heard the song, and says he sees its popularity as proof of the importance of the city's transit system in people's lives.
