Seven Toronto beaches are receiving big honours this year for meeting standards for high water quality, safety and services.
Blue Flag status was awarded to Woodbine, Cherry, Hanlan's Point, Ward's Island, Centre Island, Gibralter Point and Kew-Balmy beaches.
Only four other beaches in Ontario have been recognized for meeting the strict international standards required for Blue Flag certification.
They are Sauble, Station Grand Bend Wasaga beaches.
