TORONTO - The Ontario Hockey League's London Knights will host the 2014 Memorial Cup.

The selection committee chose the Knights over the Barrie Colts and the Windsor Spitfires.

The tournament will take place May 16-25, 2014, at Budweiser Gardens. London will host the tournament for a second time after winning the Memorial Cup on home ice in 2005.

The 10-day event is a battle for supremacy in major junior hockey between the host team and the champions of the OHL, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League.

The announcement comes a day after London scored in the last second of Game 7 of the OHL final, beating Barrie 3-2 and advancing to the 2013 edition of the CHL championship tournament in Saskatoon.

The Knights project to have more than 22 players from this season's team back for the 2013-14 campaign.
