Annie Burns-Pieper is a freelance investigative and health reporter based in Nelson, B.C. She has worked with national investigative teams at the Globe and Mail, CBC, CTV News, and Global News, and her international reporting has appeared in the Guardian, Al Jazeera, and others. As managing editor of the Institute for Investigative Journalism at Concordia University in Montreal, she led a major investigation into the First Nations water crisis. Annie specializes in covering gender equality, public safety, and health. She is a Michener-Deacon fellow and holds master’s degrees from Toronto Metropolitan University and the London School of Economics and Political Science in England. She speaks English.
