She then returned to school and earned a post-graduate diploma in journalism from Humber College. Here, she helped her school win an award for best television and radio interview in North America. Prior to joining CP24, Zakarian was a videojournalist, anchor, radio reporter and weather specialist at CBC Windsor. Along the way, she's completed internships at Sesame Street in New York City, Voice of America in Washington D.C., Fashion Television, and CBC Toronto. In her personal time, Zakarian is a volunteer. She is a proud Torontonian and very active in the Armenian community. She has hosted different events throughout the city like Sip, Shop & Celebrate Women, a fundraiser for The Scarborough Hospital Foundation. Zakarian has devoted many years to Scouts Canada, an organization she has been a part of for most of her life.
