Courtney Heels is proud to keep Torontonians up-to-date with the latest breaking news since joining the CP24 team as a anchor/reporter in 2015. During her tenure with CP24, Heels has provided coverage on important Toronto stories including former police chief Bill Blair’s 2015 federal election win as Member of Parliament representing Scarborough Southwest; Prince Harry’s trip to Toronto to promote the 2017 Invictus Games; and the scaffolding collapse at Bathurst and Eglinton that injured seven people in April 2016. Heels began her career in broadcasting in 2007, working in radio before making the move to television when she joined CTV News Northern Ontario in 2008, followed by a move to CTV News Barrie in 2011, where she spent the next four years. Heels has worn many hats throughout her career thus far, with roles that include reporter, videographer, weather specialist, anchor, and producer, and has provided coverage on stories across northern and central Ontario, including the communities of New Liskeard, Elliot Lake, Orangeville, Bobcaygeon, and across the Greater Toronto Area. Originally from Barrie, Ont., Heels completed studies in journalism at Canadore College in North Bay, Ont. Now residing in Toronto, she enjoys exploring the city's many neighbourhoods, farmers’ markets, libraries, and parks.
