Jee-Yun Lee is an acclaimed journalist and on-air personality at CP24. For almost three decades, she has covered some of the biggest news stories and events locally and around the world. Born in South Korea, Jee’s family immigrated to Canada when she was a year old. Attending North Toronto Collegiate Institute and the University of Toronto for history and politics, Jee credits interning at CTV’s "The Dini Petty Show" with helping her discover her passion for broadcasting. Her first job in journalism was with CTV Saskatchewan. Wearing several hats, she was a videographer, anchor, weather reporter, producer, writer, and lineup editor. In 1997, Jee returned to Ontario working for CHCH TV in Hamilton for five years and subsequently with Citytv in Toronto for eight years. Her beats ranged from health to Queen’s Park to consumer stories. As a consumer specialist, Jee made guest appearances on Breakfast Television and "Cityline" with Marilyn Denis. She has had fun along the way hosting the New Year’s Eve Bash from Nathan Phillips Square from 2002 to 2004. Jee was also the host of The Spin for Star Daily. In 2010, Jee joined CP24. As a breaking news reporter, she provided live coverage of some of the biggest stories including the G20 summit in Toronto, the 2013 Toronto flood and many TIFF red carpets. From 2012 to 2018, Jee helped launch and co-anchor the highly rated evening newscast "CP24 Live at 10." Outside of work, Jee has assisted in fundraising and awareness efforts for retinoblastoma (eye cancer) and multiple sclerosis. She also works closely with the Korean Canadian Women’s Association, focusing on fundraising efforts to provide social and family services to Korean families in Canada. For her support and pride in her Korean heritage, Jee was the proud recipient of the Korean Canadian Heritage Award in the area of arts and entertainment in 2011. Jee is also a part-time actress. She has appeared in several television shows and movies including "The Incredible Hulk," "Camp Rock" with the Jonas Brothers, and "Room."
