Jennifer Hsiung co-anchors “CP24 Breakfast,” Toronto's most-watched morning show, where she helps viewers kickstart their day with a blend of news and entertainment from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays. Since joining CP24 in 2020, Jennifer has quickly become a familiar face in homes across the GTHA, bringing her extensive international reporting experience to the forefront. Jennifer is a seasoned journalist with expertise covering international news, sports, and entertainment. Her reporting spans significant global events such as the Olympics and the G20 summit, as well as the Academy Awards and international fashion weeks. Her specialty lies in one-on-one interviews, and providing insightful coverage of both local and international stories, making her a versatile generalist in the field. Jennifer's career began in Beijing, where she became the youngest sports anchor at China Central Television (CCTV), covering the 2008 Summer Olympics. Her work at CCTV's English-language network, CGTN, included anchoring the channel’s flagship arts and entertainment program, “Culture Express.” She has interviewed renowned figures such as Kobe Bryant and Yao Ming, showcasing her ability to connect with diverse audiences. Jennifer has a deep understanding of Toronto's multicultural landscape, enriched by her own Taiwanese heritage. She grew up in downtown Toronto, attended high school in Scarborough and completed a bachelor of arts degree in journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). Her international experience, particularly in Beijing, provides her with a unique perspective on immigrant communities and cultural integration within the city. Outside of journalism, Jennifer is a talented standup comedian, having performed on Comedy Central's "Stand-Up, Asia!" She also became the only female to reach the finals of the 2017 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition. Additionally, Jennifer was recognized with the iHeart Comedy Award for Best Newcomer Comic in Toronto in 2020, highlighting her versatility and talent beyond traditional journalism. She is also a dedicated mother of three and an active community member. She volunteers her time as an MC for Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation’s annual Fortune Ball, and St. Michael's Foundation’s annual Angels Den competition. She has also moderated events for the Young Presidents' Organization's global conferences in Beijing and Singapore. Jennifer is also a member of ACTRA, and completed her first half-Ironman triathlon in Muskoka in 2024. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
