A 31-year-old Hamilton man is dead and another man has sustained serious injuries after a vehicle slammed into a light standard in Oakville.
Halton Regional Police said they responded to a serious collision on Bristol Circle, south of Plymouth Drive, around 9:45 p.m. Thursday night.
According to police, a grey Porsche SUV was eastbound on Bristol Circle when it left the roadway and collided with the light standard.
The 31-year-old driver of the vehicle was rushed to a trauma centre where he was pronounced dead. His 30-year-old passenger, also from Hamilton, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Images from the scene showed the crumpled vehicle lying on its side next to a snow bank.
It’s not yet clear what caused the vehicle to leave the road. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is looking into the fatal crash.
Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to investigators.
