Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted someone after a bus ride in Markham earlier this month.

York police say the victim was travelling on a bus from Kennedy and Eglinton in Toronto on Mon. Jan. 13 when a man attempted to speak to her.

When the victim later exited the bus in Markham, the suspect allegedly followed her before approaching and touching her “for a sexual purpose,” according to police.

Investigators have released images of the man wanted in connection with the alleged sexual assault.

He is described as South Asian, with a thin build and is believed to be about 20 years old.

The pictures show him wearing a black winter jacket, black pants, black shoes, and a blue hooded sweater.

He was also carrying Timberland branded boots at the time of the assault.

Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
